Beacon Rock State Park, WA (November 2017)

My brother and I hiked Beacon Rock one stormy afternoon in November. It was a cold and rainy day, but we bundled up and adventured out through the chilly wind and rolling fog. A stormy Columbia River Gorge is always a favorite of mine, and as expected, it was a sight to behold!

Continuing my exploration and experimentation in my videography, I took the opportunity on this hike to play around with perspective, angles, and camera movement. Taking cues from recent film inspirations such as filmmakers like Timtothewild (Tim Kellner), I allowed myself to experiment with canted angles and expand my movement beyond panning and tilting. The result feels like it was meant to be a visual and dynamic cinematic piece (more so than some of my past travel videos), and it's something that I am incredibly proud of!
