Byodo-In Temple
It’s been a minute since I’ve been to visit the koi, ring the bell, and stroll around the peaceful ground of the Byodo-In Temple, so I made sure to visit again last time I was in Hawaii. Upon walking up the path, I definitely had the pleasantly weird experience of feeling a sense of nostalgia from feeding the koi fish as a kid as well as experiencing the temple like a new visitor since I was so far removed from those memories. In the end, I enjoyed a peaceful morning at this beautiful temple nestled in the Ko’olau Mountains and even got to feed the koi again. (Of course, I had to!)
